Recently I finished class 01 of Animation Mentor - the amazing 3D animation school taught by fantastic industry working professionals from major studios including Disney, Pixar (where my mentor works), Dreamworks, Sony and Blue Sky and many more. So far I have had an absolute blast and have really enjoyed learning Maya and how to animate in 3D. I still have another year or so to go in the course, but if it is as fun as the first 3 months I am in for a great ride.
Below is a video of a walk cycle I completed in Maya using the Animation Mentor rig - Ballie. I love the old walk cycles in 2D animation that you see in Goofy cartoons and really wanted to explore and experiment with some of those techniques in 3D. Hope you enjoy!

ReplyDeleteAnimation Mentor is awesome. Glad you're enjoying it.
I graduated in March 2010 and I still look back on my notes for inspiration and insight.
I could probably do the whole course again and still learn something new.
Best of luck with classes 2 to 6.
Cheers
